Our Practice

  Guardianship & Trusts Board of Directors include professionals from health, finance and social work fields. 

This crucial support allows GTC to serve clients whose medical needs and decisions may be beyond the scope of most potential conservators. 

As GTC was originally conceived as a project of The ARC of Tennessee, a non-profit disability rights advocacy group in Nashville, and funded by the Tennessee Department of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (DIDD). GTC’s Board of Directors must always include a member of The ARC of Tennessee. 

Executive Director of Guardianship & Trusts

Ms. Mitchell has been with Guardianship & Trusts since 1998, previously serving as Associate Executive Director and Director of Social Service until she became Executive Director in 2009.

Ms. Mitchell earned her Masters' of Science degree in Public Service Management at Cumberland University. Her education also includes her Bachelors' of Science degree in Social Work from Middle Tennessee State University. Ms. Mitchell is a Certified National Guardian, she continues provides direct conservatorship services and oversees medical and financial decisions in consultation with the other GTC Directors. Ms. Mitchell's thoughtful leadership has made GTC achieve great strides over the past few years.
